The Rolls Royce Silver Shadow II is a luxury sedan produced by the British car company between 1965 and 1981. The Rolls Royce Silver Shadow was born as a successor to the Silver Cloud, a car that was successfull among wealthy clients of the United Kingdom, but that was feeling the weight of the years. The Silver Shadow was the first car of the British house with monocoque chassis, a solution that improved the driveability of the car at the expense of comfort. This is the reason why Rolls Royce engineers paid special attention to the design of the suspension and equipped the car with rubber bearings to help reduce vibrations. The profile of the car was made more slender, but without giving up the classic front grille surmounted by the statue of Spirit of Ecstasy. The interiors - as usual - sported precious materials: leather, briarwood and chromed steel. The engine instead was taken from the third series of the Silver Cloud: a powerful V8 of 6230 cm³ of 200 hp.
