The Citroen DS is a high-end car produced from 1955 until 1975 by the French automaker Cit-roen. Even today, after more than 50 years since its release, the DS does not go unnoticed thanks to its extreme unconventionality. Presented at the 1955 Paris Motor Show, the DS has included, since its inception, many technical innovations that were present until the end of its production in 1975. During its presentation at the Paris Motor Show of 1955, the new car collected 80,000 orders by a public thrilled by so many innovations concentrated in a single model. In addition to the visual impact, the DS was revolutionary even for the many technical solutions it adopted. One of the main innovations was the hydropneumatic suspension: independent suspensions with wishbones that allow you to maintain a constant ride height of the car. The hydraulic circuit, which was to initiate the innovative hydropneumatic suspension, was also used for the operation of the power brake, power steering, the hydraulic clutch, and the gearbox. The breaking system consisted of front disks. Even the body of the DS was a radical innovation. The panels were bolted to the frame, making replacing them very simple. The rich version Pallas was introduced August 25th of 1964 and was the most luxurious and equipped.
