The Lancia Fulvia is a car produced by the automaker Lancia between 1963 and 1976. As a substitute of the Appian III series, it received a moderate amount of success due to the comfort that was offered to its passengers, the build quality, and good road holding.
The Fulvia also introduces several advanced mechanical innovations, such as the 4-cylinder engine in V, the front-wheel drive and 4-wheel disc brakes.
The first version of the Lancia Fulvia was equipped with a 1091 DC motor, powered by a single carburetor, that could deliver a total of 58 HP.
In 1965 the designers of the Lancia House developed, based on the sedan, the Fulvia Coupe, an elegant and sporty car, that immediately was a huge commercial success. Over the following years several innovations were introduced, which lead to a performance increase from the origi-nal 80 HP to the 93 HP versions of the 1.3 S. Rally.
It was the entrance into the world of the Rally to further push Lancia engineers to increase the performance of the Lancia Fulvia. The 1300 CC engine was no longer able to compete for the overall title, leading to further development of the car mechanics. The result of this was the creation of the Rally 1.6 HF, nicknamed Fanalone, due to the increased size of the interior lights compared to those outside. The car embodied the philosophy of the racing world: 1600 CC en-gine with 120 HP (brought up to 160 HP in racing), 5 speed transmission, racing trims and alloy wheels with wide tires.
The Fulvia Fanalone allowed Lancia to win several rallies and the World Championship in 1972.
Rent a Lancia Fulvia HF Fanalone for a tour on Lake Como, Venice or Tuscany. Or to admire the wonders of the French Riviera, passing through Nice and Montecarlo.
