One of Germany’s most exclusive high-end cars of the `50s.
Presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1951, it was produced in both a coupe version and a cabriolet version (with two and four doors).
The design is typically retro, very similar to the models of the period just before World War II.
The enhancements over previous models are the 2.2-liter engine, the first 6-cylinder in-line mo-tor with a maximum power of 80 HP pushing the 220 to the speeds of 140 kilometers per hour.
The 220 also offers some ‘goodies’ (for the time), such as a safety lock to prevent accidentally opening the doors while moving and a heating system (on request).
The time, the convertible sold for such a price that only a lucky few could afford to buy it.
On the hood just above the radiator appears highlighted the famous representative brand of the brand Mercedes-Benz, a three pointed star in a circle, indicating the universality of the produc-tion of Mercedes-Benz.
Rent a Mercedes Benz 220 A Cabriolet for a tour on Lake Como, Venice or Tuscany. Or to admire the wonders of the French Riviera, passing through Nice and Montecarlo.
