The Maserati Indy 4700 is a sports car produced by the Italian car manufacturer Maserati between 1969 and 1975. It takes its name from the famous Indianapolis 500 car race, reflecting Maserati's aspiration to create a prestigious sports car.
The Maserati Indy 4700 was a four-seater coupé, designed to offer a mix of sporting performance and comfort for long journeys. Aesthetically, it featured a sleek, streamlined design, with clean, aggressive lines. It was equipped with interlocking doors, which opened "suicide" style to facilitate access to the cockpit.
Under the bonnet, the Maserati Indy 4700 featured a 4.7-litre V8 engine, initially powered by four Weber carburettors and later by an injection system. This engine delivered around 290 horsepower, allowing the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in around 7 seconds and reach a top speed of around 250 km/h.
The cockpit of the Maserati Indy 4700 was spacious and luxurious, with comfortable seats and a refined design.
